Crimean Tatars warned Ukrainian extremists from trying to break into Crimea
MOSCOW (RO) – The head of the Crimean regional national-cultural autonomy of the Crimean Tatars Eyvaz Umerov warned the former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, the head of the organization “Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people *” (banned in the Russian Federation) Refat Chubarov, who planned the “march” to the Crimea, from rash acts.
“I have no illusions that this action will gather a significant crowd. The complete failure and collapse of the Majlis’s policy in Ukraine compels his runaway functionaries to resort to the radicalization of their activities, ”RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Umerov believes that Ukrainian politicians “will not be in the forefront of the march.”
“But if anyone goes for this provocation, I would like to recall that any actions aimed at violating the sovereign border of the Russian Federation will be stopped by arrest,” he added.
The head of the regional national-cultural autonomy of the Crimean Tatars believes that the Ukrainian extremists need a “march” in order to “bayonet” at least some of their compatriots and return the “question” of Crimea to the information agenda of Western countries and within Ukraine itself.
Earlier, Chubarov said that representatives of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people *, which he banned in Russia, would cross the border with Crimea at the Chongar checkpoint on May 2.
Crimea became the Russian region after the referendum, more than 96% of the participants in favor of reunification with Russia. President Vladimir Putin emphasized that the issue of Crimea’s ownership is closed completely.
